Duane Shields Runs Incredible Numbers During Eliminations at Richmond (1 Viewer)

Duane Shields in the PEAK A/Fuel Dragster along with his competitors made some epic runs during eliminations this past weekend at the Lucas Oil Series Regional event at the Virginia Motorsports Park. Duane qualified fourth in the Top Alcohol Dragster class with a respectable 5.23 at 275 MPH and he would only improve from there.

In the opening round, Duane raced east coast standout Jackie Fricke. As the cars left the starting line it was Fricke out first with an .059 to Duane's .076. But the PEAK Dragster took care of the slight deficit as Duane dominated the race with a sizzling 5.17 at 277 MPH over Fricke's decent 5.25 at 274 MPH.

The PEAK Team then went into the semifinals with confidence after their 5.17 in round one. However, they would face Dan Mercier who was all over the board with an unreal 5.12 in qualifying but then slowed to a 5.90 in round one. As the lights came down, it was Mercier out of the box first with an .045 to Duane's .109. As both cars flew down the Virginia track, neck and neck it was Mercier taking the stripe with an 5.16 at 282 MPH to Duane's very close 5.18 at 280 MPH. "We lost a good race to Mercier. We can’t complain. We will go to Charlotte next week with a great running car" Duane said.

Duane would like to thank PEAK Antifreeze and Motor Oil, Final Charge, Blue Def, NGK Spark Plugs, GRP Connecting Rods, Brad Anderson Enterprises, Hot Wheels Car Care Products, SRI and Clean Boost for their ongoing support.
