EPPING, NH – Robert Patrick had plenty of wick for his high-horsepower lantern Saturday evening during qualifying for the IHRA Amalie Oil North American Nationals in Epping, NH. He held no reservations about turning it up during Saturday evening’s session either.
Patrick vaulted his Purvis Ford-sponsored Shelby Cobra SVT to the second overall position with a 6.358 elapsed time at 219.65 miles per hour.
“The conditions were there and we went for it,” Patrick said. “I think this puts us in a good position for Sunday. We didn’t get after it too much in the first session because our first priority was just to get in the show. I knew we were in there and we decided to get after it.”
Patrick entered that final session as the 13th qualifier with a 6.403 elapsed time at 217.60 miles per hour.
