"Our business is a lot different than it was in the early days, but the desire to produce a quality product that tastes great remains unchanged.”

Ick!!! I have never tasted any moonshine that "tastes great". It was like drinking Nitromethane!!!

Hey, David--have you seen "Last American Hero" with Jeff Bridges? It is a great movie and it is "loosely" based on the Junior Johnson story. It never got too much recognition early but has slowly become a classic. Movie sound track is all by Jim Croce.

Lets just say if someone here in The Heart of Texas wanted some of "Pappy's White Lightening" I might know where to score some!

No, I haven't Terry. But I'll check it out. Thanks for the heads up!!

When I was a wee lad in Indep Mo, we went to a few family reunions near Springfield Mo. Quite a few of my Dad's relatives were from the "deeper" part of the Ozarks. I remember the older guys would sit around outside, occasionally passing around a large flask, taking an occasional "nip." Once one of them handed it to me saying "Here son, this'll grow some hair on that chest o' yours." His wife spotted that, swooped it out of my hand and just about handed him his head. In my few short years on the planet, I'd NEVER heard a woman swear quite like that. A stevedore would have stood in reverent silence.

My grandfather refused to haul the actual stuff, but he did used to deliver canning jars to a few producers. LOL, for some reason, showing up in town to buy several hundred jars draws attention, so you pay someone to do it for you and deliver at a later date.

It was readily available when I was growing up and I'm sure it still is.

Junior actually went to prison for running moonshine. If I'm not mistaken, he later recieved a Presidential pardon.
