Agreed. On any given weekend, there are many races for Pro Mod. Even besides the PDRA and NMCA, there are quite a few one-off races that draw a ton of cars.
J&A services foots the bill Not NHRA because it doesn't fit into their "Non-Profit" budget but their pay-out for a Nat. event is a far cry from the $40K that they are paying out at Norwalk.
It was interesting watching The Shakedown last night. Seeing Pro Mod cars that usually run in the PDRA and NMCA running the full 1320. Melanie Salemi is #1 with a 5.735/249.95 in Q2 after running a 5.767/248.89 in Q1. About a half dozen cars in the 5.80's as well.
My son went and enjoyed it. Tough time of the year to draw spectators with kids getting settled back in school. A lot of casual fans have had their fill of racing after the national event and the Night Under Fire. Does anyone know how well spectator turnouts were for the E-Town Shakedown?
