It died last year.

Technically 1,320 feet is still there, the only thing that died was the fuel cars use of it.

My bet is Sunday will be pretty lame this year. I'll bet at least half the nitro teams don't even run the last session. That iks why I am going Saturday this year.
The shootout's, whether it be the "Big Bud" ,the Technicoat, the Skoal or whatever it was all had a common theme....Sponsor's. K&N took over the Pro Stock one a few years back, and Ringer's GLoves is covering the PSB one.
It takes corporate money and marketing people to make it work and put up the big prize money that these programs need to be successful. They all paid out Number One qualifier bonus's as well, which the Fuel teams no longer receive. A sign of the times I'm afraid

everyone will run on Sunday cause thats the day they will finish seating the latter.....i guarantee you will see more teams sit out on Saturday
The money was there for the future of these special events. NHRA didn't want to get upstaged and nixed the proposed deals.
