NORWALK, Ohio – GT Tonglet grabbed the 16th starting Pro Stock Motorcycle berth Saturday for Sunday’s Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals on his final qualifying run.
Limited to only two runs due to Friday’s rain out, GT stopped the timer in 7.077 seconds at 187.81 mph to put the Nitro Fish/Tonglet Racing Suzuki GSXR into the line-up by a slim four-thousandths of a second. GT meets Hector Arana Jr. (No. 1, 6.887 seconds at 191.59 mph) in the first round.
He began the day with run of 7.111 seconds at 186.41.
As things played out, GT is the only Tonglet who will be racing on Sunday. His brother LE did not qualify.
