This is a bit off topic but the title "nitro blast" reminded me of my sons first time at the races.
We went to Seattle last year & he had never been to the drag races before.
We were wandering the pits Sunday morning & I could tell by the people gathering that someone was getting ready to warm up a fuel car.
I told him "follow me quick" well we went over & Gary Scelzi was getting ready to fire the car up.We got a spot at the ropes & my son was watching people putting on gas masks & ear plugs. He said later he was thinking "what a bunch of pansies" (that was that 16 year old cool coming out in him)..... Well they fired that car off he was standing there with a ear to ear grin when Gary hit the throttle & his shoulder length hair blew back & that "nitro blast" hit him square in the face He had tears running down his cheeks, couldn't breath..It was priceless.....I told him "sorry but I just had to initiate you" He walked around the rest of the day in heaven. I may be rotten but I boy did I create some lasting memories for both of us that day.
