Night of Fire - Summit Motorsports Park (12 Viewers)

I also watched the Martin 131 from what I read they're trying to get the PM done today. Spectator turnout was also disappointing.
Weather isn't looking good for Martin.

I don’t remember the year but we were running Pulde’s Nostalgia Funny Car there. During the race they lost complete power for probably an hour and I’m willing to bet not one person left their seat. The placed was packed!!

Watched it on FLO and it looks like they ironed out the buffering issues that they had from previous racing events. Flawless and great camera work.
I’m fine if they end up doing the NHRA streaming next year. It may be a little more or even less than we pay now. The sound was better than what we get and the camera work was good. I would guess there would probably be a human operated camera on the starting line too.

I don't understand a race between a dragster and a funny car. Do they spot the funny car a 10th of a second on the tree?
It's been done before. The tree has a delay to compenstate the difference between the 2 but the hardest part is trying not to react when the first one leaves because of the sound of the first one leaving.

The weather forcast doesn't too promising for today.
I looked at the forecast also. Looks as though the bigger chance of rain (42%) begins @ 10 pm. Let’s hope that they can get it in before it would rain. 🤞

At the big Bristol 'No Bull Showdown' in 1999/2000 they averaged all the TF and FC qualifying runs and came up with a spot number which was .37 (1999) for the Funnies. $200K, winner take all. Force won in 99, Capps, 2000. That part worked out fine; the problem with the noise from the FCs was, as you said, a real issue.

Interesting TF vs FC race. Too bad daughter went in the tank for Dad at 200 feet. Nice long yesterday-style burnout from John.
