Just wanna say thanks to ORP & NHRA for giving us an awesome track, err, left lane!!!:mad:

Hate to say this but gotta agree with Greg Anderson: fix it before next year!!!

Seattle had a 1 lane track for several years & it was embarassing to say that it was my "home"track!!!:(:(

I can't remember, was it that bad the last few years?

Please someone step up & fix it!!!

nice way to represent the biggest event of the year, with a 1 lane track :( i didnt even watch the finals, and who i thought won did. unfortunatly $humacher did it again. smarten up nhra. 1 lane race tracks are bad for the sport!

Have to agree. As a racer and fan, I was highly disappointed. I mean come on its the U.S. Nationals. If they can tear up the track during the cajun nationals way back when, then they could have done something. I hope the HD partners are listening. I know I am not the only one disappointed.

After semis, score was 10 left, 4 right in all four categories! Pros tested at Indy last week - did something happen since then or did NHRA know something was wrong and pretend everything was fine? All of the pros interviewed (except GA) danced around the issue - he had the guts to say something was wrong and needed to be fixed. Many hours of coverage wasted as potential new fans watch commentators explain another NHRA debacle -

I'm sure one of the Glendora faithful will post some sort of statistics showing it really wasn't a bad lane...just that the best cars with the best setups just happened to all be in the left lane...

What a sad old facility IRP has turned in to...

Or . . .

. . . was this an underground ploy to further the players that NHRA were secretly aligned with? Should Graham Light send out a memo to the sanctioning body about staging preferred competitors' victories through the strategic use of one-lane racetracks? Should there be fines and penalties threatened in the memo? Take it one step farther and review all the tire spinning competitors to fine/penalize them for diving? We need something to call entertainment since only two cars run at a time and one was always in a disadvantaged lane?

:D:D:D
Thanks Doc for making me laugh!!!

And Jeremy, how would you like it if you were there running and 1 lane was twice as good as the other?

Are you people ever happy?

How happy would you be if you were a team owner or crew chief who had to figure out how to detune you car in an inferior lane to try to somehow win a round at the biggest race of the year? Am I unhappy? You bet your a$$!
Competitors who bust their butts deserve better than this!

Sorry, Wayne. I really was being sarcastic...apparently it didn't come across that way.

Sorry Jeremy; too tired & pissed to catch it!!!
And as Brent & others can attest, sometimes us truck drivers are sllooowww!!!
:D:D:D

It's all good!!!:)

It became obvious to me (and I'm sure alot of others) that it was one lane racing in the AM broadcast on ESPN. Instead of tuning in to the afternoon broadcast like I had planned, I went outside and did some yard work.

NHRA really needs to get a grip on that issue. Biggest race of the year and one lane racing? What a rip. They have taken other tracks to task for the same thing and repairs were made asap. Will they take themselve's to the same task? We'll have to wait and see.

If it was one of Bruton's tracks it would get fixed in a timely manner.

The biggest race of the year on a one lane racetrack:mad:, you shouldn't have to race the lane:confused:, you should have to race the guy in the other lane:).

I would rather see both lanes marginal vs one good/ one bad. Since the sport gets more expensive each year, maybe teams will have to have their own concrete and asphalt crews.

I KNOW........ I KNOW..........

When a track shows such a disadvantage to a lane then NHRA can start Handicap starting like a Bracket Race.. Then the faster car not only gets lane choice but also gets the oppurtunity to watch the slower car redlight first..

Did they work on it and it just didn't come around ?? Don't you think they tried and it didn't pan out? Just wondering.

During qualifying it wasn't a 1 lane. Good times in both.

Basically sucked when Sunday came around.

You are missing the point. First before you can do something to even out the lanes you have to admit that there is a problem....And that is where your problem lies....

From the telecast and I admit not the best place to view or judge I saw no evidence of any efforts to correct the situation as it went on into the final eliminations. IF somebody was there and corret this very point I will be more than happy to admit I am wrong.... but I don't think so.

And who are the owners of most of the One-Lane tracks? Anyone?

NHRA is a piss poor track manager... more worried about luxury sky boxes than having a facility that yields a competitive race and afford the racers decent pits!!
