NHRA To Make Changes To Points Procedure After Indy

Everyone, please let them know of your/our opinions!!!
Gonna e-mail them right now!!!

Problem: the traveling circus has too many qualifying sessions, so that teams that either don't have or don't want to spend the money or parts skip an occasional session.

Solution: penalize teams that skip sessions and/or don't "go for it" so that it costs them money and parts -- in a tough economy.

Alternative: trim the show, not the team's wallets.

My opinion

With only four test days, and having just 16 cars showing up, some teams are using qualifying as a test session, making only a true run on Friday evening, producing a lame show on Saturday, I have been to 3 National events this year and all Saturdays were disappointing, with E-Town being the worst. I think, teams are also cutting back due to the high cost of racing and less sponsor dollars available, making the show lame.

IHRA has been doing this for a few years how with 5 points going to the low et of the day and a cut in pay if you did not run Saturday night.

The well funded team, if there is such a thing other than Alan Johnson team now a days will get an unfair advantage.
