Yes, that was a surprisingly good, well-written article from a non-traditional motorsports source. Thanks for posting the link.

what happens when we run out of nitro? Just send Connie to China with a 747 I guess.
I think International goods (especially hazardous materials) still have to pass through a Port of Call and US Customs inspection. So Connie can unload a LAX, then it has to get trucked over to Port of LA and await final transportation like everything else stuck there.

Unless you work in manufacturing or a related field, you have no real idea how broken the supply chain really is. And it has very little to do with too much demand or an "improving economy" as some want you to believe. Saw a study the other day that the AVERAGE price of a new vehicle (Car/Truck/SUV) in the US has rocketed to almost $46k. That's the average ... HOLY CRAP !!

Had a discussion with a racing crew recently and was told lead times for crankshafts can be out 26 weeks based on material availability. Think about that, half a year. Your whole season could be ruined because of parts availability even if you can afford them.

car market is crazy. Some of the cost average relates to what they are making. If I can make a 50K car or a 30k car I make what makes me the most profit. Dealers are certainly taking advantage of the market as well. The whole supply chain is a complicated puzzle right now. Lots of pieces out of place.

When Kalitta Air lands at LAX they go through US Customs there. They do it every day as do many other freight airlines. Air freight does not go back to the harbor.

Issues getting parts ended my season practically before it began. At least everything should be ready for 2022 (hopefully).

Try getting a serpentine belt for an 11 year old Toyota.... am hearing lots of stuff on back order, just for personal cars.

Brad, Talk to Stevie or some of the other team guys, I'll bet you that they would be happy to help you to at least get thru the end of the season.

My season would have been over after the St. Louis double, anyway. Unfortunately, trashing a couple cylinders at Topeka when a piston decided staying in one piece was too boring turned out to be too much to repair promptly. We just couldn't get the correct sleeves in time to make any other races. Actually, I'm still waiting on them, but it sounds like they should be in before the calendar turns...
