NHRA Midwest Nationals (21 Viewers)

not sure how the rule would work, but in this case yesterday, as long as the driver who was wronged (ashley) accepted the
challenge to re-run, and if salinas did not accept, would ashley only have to take the green light for the win as a solo?
or if ashley would have been a lesser budget racer and refused the challenge, then salinas would have taken the win, even with the snafu.
it's just a no-win for anyone. salinas team ends up with most work as their car completed full run. we'll see if she remains on
list for texas.

From what I'm reading, the first run between her and Ashley was completely invalidated as if it never happened. If Ashley (or Salinas) had refused a rerun then it's effectively a second round bye and treated as such. Based on that I doubt Salinas would have received any additional compensation. Sucks for her but bad luck unfortunately plays no favorites.

When this situation happens, I think they should have just let Ashley make a pass immediately and let the elapsed time + reaction times figure out who wins. While that is not ideal, it gives a quick solution. Instead they pretty much stopped racing for 40+ minutes and cost Salinas quite a bit of money.

there is never a great solution to a snafu like this, but your idea is interesting, ESPECIALLY as they were in the middle of a
LIVE fox network broadcast. we got the live feed up here in MN from 1-3pm, and then we got the live shaft because of this delay.
i thought maybe they would do a quick recap of first two rounds and then be ready for live semis by 1:15 - 1:30.
of course that didn't happen. we watched recap of milan race, then tape delayed E1 and E2 of FC and TF, then finally
all (4) pro categories semi-finals were shown live, then our live show ended at 3pm. no live finals. really wanted to watch
nitro finals live. oh well.

kyle w., another really nice race. you are running great. sucks on E1 r.t.,
i was bummed when i saw it, especially against your opponent.

That would never happen. NHRA rules under these circumstances completely dismiss the run and require a re-run.

- Don't look now, but Will Smith has the most points of any pro scag team car (5th place)
Just for the topic of conversation......

Let's say he pulled off the final round yesterday. He'd be 4th in points with a race win.

Or.. Let's say he wins a race before the season is over and stays ahead of Maddi Gordon in points...

Enough to knock Maddi off the rookie of the year?

They aren't going to bump NFL. Did they go to FS2?

LOL, no. the golden girl had this won the minute she made a pass at the Gators.. In a fair world, hell yes he should be right there for consideration...

ken, i was watching at location where i did not have channel control. good question, i'm not sure if they did or not?
but if they did wouldn't that ruin the show for the 4-6pm est show?, which i believe most of the country was scheduled to see?
anyone watch the later broadcast? and if so, did you see the finals?

No, she had it won in Gainesville
"The golden girl had this won the minute she made a pass at the Gators."
"No, she had it won in Gainesville."

Which makes me one of two things - confused, or asleep.

Myself, I'm a big Maddi fan but I'm giving this one to Will Smith.

I don't believe Will is eligible for Rookie of the Year. He has too many races run prior to this season in Dixon and Novelli's cars.
