If I was one of the people who donated items to the museum that are now being auctioned off I would be real upset. The items were donated to the museum and the people who donated them should be contacted and given the opportunity to get it back before it is available for auction.

Typically when you donate something you can’t ask for it back. I don’t know how much of this was donated, but those who did got tax deductions which can’t be reversed.
