NHRA Celebrity Sighting

Here in Santa Barbara, CA. He was just being a normal dude....shopping like the rest of us. Man, I've got to tell ya...it was like meeting Mickey Mantle!

My friends at Spectre Performance had a celebrity sighting this morning also, Ron Capps and his dad stopped by their pits in Bonneville. :D

So did Jack Clark! LOL

Funny - Some years ago, I took a "newbie" to the Summernationals at Englishtown. We had occasion to meet Jack Clark and get a personal tour of his pits AND his trailer. (Taco Bell signage - I want to say.)

I was so impressed getting inside a Top Fuel nerve center and my "newbie" pal - a rabid Yankees fan, wet-his-pants over meeting Jack Clark. Who?

Lance what the deal with that car? Any more pics, specs? I've got to get to Bonneville one of these days.

I'm really good friends with all of the guys at Spectre Performance. Amir Rosenbaum who owns Spectre went 415mph in it last year at Bonneville, fastest run ever on gasoline. It was their first year running it, and they made it look easy. :D They run big block Caddy's in it with twin turbochargers, stock block and cranks.

This year is a different story though, and I'm sure Amir is starting to feel like he owns a Top Fuel Car. Lets see, they broke a rear end housing on the first run, have gone through 3 engines, now on their 4th, broke a drive shaft yesterday, and after being there for a week now they have still not made a full pass.

Hopefully today will bring them success.
