Am I the only one who has noticed the NexGen (or is it NextGen?) radio ads?
Remeniscent of the old "Sunday - Sunday" Drag Race ads with 8,000 Horsepower Drag Race Champions Jack Beckman and Antron Brown prominently featured.

Full disclosure: Much of my radio is streamed from the internet - I've heard the ad several times during the Rush Limbaugh show - (via WABC New York). Not absolutely certain if it's broadcast or just I-net. Good stuff!

No I didn't hear that one, but just yesterday I heard one and it started talking about how NexGen is 50% recycled oil and the first thing that popped into my head was.."Yeah, I'm pretty sure that they're not really running that stuffin Beckman's funny car."

My guess is that Valvoline specially blends their oil for fuel racing like Castrol does for JFR.

All
The fact is that we do use NextGen oil in all of our race cars. It is blended to a thicker viscosity but we do use NextGen oil.

I heard these commercials on the Sirius NASCAR channel today.

Anybody who doesn't believe you can recycle oil to the same quality as crude oil has never seen crude oil ... especially some of the nastiest stuff like heavy Venezuelan crude. Most refineries can only process a relatively small percentage of that stuff.

Previously refined oil, even if it was full of metal shavings and antifreeze, is a cakewalk compared to crude oil. Now there are a few places in the world where you can almost burn what comes up out of the ground ... but that is by far the exception.
