This race will happen next year on November 18th. The track is pretty far along and will be completed in time. Also, the state funding has not been withdrawn, but it won't be paid until after the event is completed.

I attended the USGPs at Indy, and the sound those engines make, how quickly they decelerate and how quickly they change direction has to be seen in person to truly appreciate it. Plus, word around the campfire is that the DTM will be one of the supporting series at the event. Mercedes, Audi and Opel beating up on each other with rear wheel drive 4.2L direct injected V8's ... YES PLEASE.
