This is one of several proposed tracks that is building steam. The Analope Valley is in the extreme NE corner of Los Angeles County in the high desert. It is home of Edwards AF base were they use to land the space shuttle and developed other top secret technology for the Air Force. Both Palmdale and Lancaster are incorperated cities, and are more than willing to provide a venues to bring in revenue. There was a track in the area before (LACR), but because of progress and the land owners needs, it went away.

There is no dought that if built, it will be successful. Even if it is to keep the kids off the streets and give the locals a place to race.

Kalifornia isn't just 'Frisco, Hollyweird, BelAir, & the Sunset Strip... It's unfortunate that those four places are the only thing most know about the State.

This is a new proposed track plan to replace LACR. It will be located in Southern California and sure would be awesome to have another First class facility in drag racing's birth place!!

Tim, that deal near "the farm" has long since died off....but don't worry, I'm rubbing elbows with the guy who proposed to our area

Could be cool guys! Just thought it was an interesting piece to share. I've been keeping an eye on it to see how it goes. There is also rumor that Merced, located in central California Valley is getting a first class multi-use facility as well. From what I know groud has broke and construction started but was haulted shortly after...

Eric, thanks for posting this. I made a mistake when I said Merced. The Merced deal fell through. Last I have heard of the Tulare deal it was on hold but the website sure says otherwise! Very cool! I have been looking for this site!

The countdown clock was working on the Mopar Drag City website as well Senor Franchito.. just saying in the interest of fair reporting....

The only track I know which is actually GOING to happen anytime soon in the south west US is the new 1/8th mile place 10 miles from my parents house in Hurricane, Utah. Saw the dirt being moved myself and it's looking quite interesting. With Jon Brazeau behind this deal, I'm sure it'll be done right!

There is a big time need for a track in LA County! What does AVI stand for? That looks like a hell of a nice track.

I went to Palmdale twice it was a fun experience both times.
