NHRA® Team Report NHRA Nationals – Dallas Pre-Race Report
After another trip to the semi-finals, Cruz Pedregon and the Snap-on® Dodge® Hellcat® Funny Car are fourth in the Countdown rankings heading to Dallas…the scene of Cruz's epic 1992 win and ultimately his first NHRA Funny Car World Championship.
"Dallas is always exciting to me, and we headed down early to participate in the Wednesday test session. It's good to start qualifying rounds with solid data from the track with the warmer weather conditions we expect for the weekend," says Cruz. "With a low ET qualifier bonus Friday night, you know JC (John Collins), Rip (Reynolds) and the team are going to get the Snap-on Dodge ready to go for it."
Cruz and team are within striking distance of the top Countdown spot, so fans coming out to the Texas Motorplex and those watching NHRA on FOX can plan on seeing a competitive weekend in the Funny Car class.
Cruz's car will be decked out in the Snap-on Tools Socket to Breast Cancer paint scheme through the Breast Cancer Awareness month of October in support of raising funds for The Pink Fund® in the U.S. and Kelly Shires Foundation in Canada. Both organizations help breast cancer patients in their time of need, including providing valuable support for Cruz’s sister Dora who is a cancer survivor.
