Todd Smith tuned for Cory Mac when he was with the Carrier Brothers. . i don't remember that working either. I agree he needs someone like Klober. If this is a one year deal with Copart there needs to be a big turn around.

The Carrier Boyz were underfunded (at least the race team) and short handed. Too much time was taken preparing the car and not enough time was left to work on tune-up. They needed a "second in command" but would not hire one while Todd was there. They only did when Wes Cerney was brought in...........

Todd will do a great job. Give him a few races to get his combination in place and then comment.

P.S. All the sucessful crew chiefs are paired with someone. Some have titles, some do not.

Whatever may have happened in the past, I'm sure Todd understands now that he is withl an organization that will have all the necessary parts, pieces, and experience. These are the opportunities that prove your worth.

Best of luck.

who knows what their budget is?

same performance with one less salary and your program is $ ahead.

Are we sure the crew chief's are the problem?

Flynn and Guger didn't just wake up one day forgetting how to tune a car. Both of these guys are extremely talented in their own right and should land somewhere.
I don't think it was the car or the parts, I just think it got old. The car was an A to B 8-9 qualifier every race and if I was a team in trouble of qualifying, I would work a deal out with Flynn in a heartbeat to straighten my program out.

I would like to see KB run car number 2 and put Spencer Massey in as the driver and Donnie Bender as the Crew Chief.

Then the number 2 car would soon be the number 1 car and somehow I don't think that would sit too well with KB.

There is a lot of talent on the sidelines this year.

It'a a shame Spencer is not on the tour.

Damage control. Snake needed to retain Spencer before someone else got him.. like maybe AJ, The kids got quite a career ahead of him. This is what was said in 2008. What team owner will do the same thing this year. Spencer is the real deal. We need young drivers. Nhra needs young drivers. How many drivers are in there mid to late 40s now. How nuch longer is Larry,Cory and even the Shoe. Going to keep driven. I am not saying any of them are going anywhere. But we need drivers like Massey, Lucas, Langdon, Torance and Brandon B. and A Force Hood, Matt Hagon. All of these drivers are in there
20's and this is what the sport needs.

I have been saying that this sport needs to get Younger for years, and I'm about to turn 50! Sponsors are looking for that 18-24 year old demo, and 45-50 year old driver don't sell that! Yet many tell me I'm naive...

Look at the Greek, John force it's in their blood and they paved their own way!
If you are that concerned maybe you should go get a sponsorship deal and buy your own operation and quit depending on others. ;)
That way you can put who want in it and who to tune it!
I have all the repect for your son and think he is an awesome shoe but nobody is going to give up thier seat for him.
Look how Matt Hagen got his seat maybe Spencer needs to start pounding the pavement. Have him get a sponsorship deal and go see Jim Head I would love to see your son in a flopper I think he would be an immediate threat to the class.

? ? ? Do you mean by having your multi-millionaire father pay a team owner to let you drive one of his cars...?
As rich as his father is he wasn't willing to fund his sons endevor forever with his dealerships that's why Diehard is on the side and Safe break in the past probably wasn't a good example.
Being a hired shoe albeit a great shoe doesn't translate into a permanent ride the only way too assure it is to go get some $$$ and become the owner.

Bob
We are working on this. The way things went down we got a late start looking for sponcer $. Spencer has worked hard for many years to get where he is. Matt Hagons Dad paid for his seat. I do not have that $$. But we are working on this like I said. It is hard with the way things are. But we will not give up. I was not saying anyone was going to give there seat for him at all. I was saying we need more young drivers is all. Have a good day.

I wish you the best of luck in putting something together, it's the best way to go and assure Spencer a seat at the table.

I'm still flashin' on Spencer in Jim Head's funny!

That could become a very capable contender.

That would be good. Like I said before we are looking hard for $$$$$$ so Spencer can get back out on the track. It will happen just may take till 2011 before it happens.
Have a good day
Ray Massey
