New NHRA Substance Policy

The latest substance abuse policy looks much better, very much tightened up. One thing caught my eye though. Under "covered individuals" it has:

(1) anyone who holds or is applying for a competition license;
(2) all non-licensed competitors;
(3) crew chiefs and crew members of any race team;
(4) all team owners who are on site during an event to the extent that any such individual is Participating in the preparation or operation of the race vehicle;
(5) all NHRA officials and employees in safety sensitive positions.

Can't help but notice that #5 carefully excludes Reinhart

If you run below a certain speed (I think 11.99) you don't need a license.

<edit> I stand corrected, just checked the license app, and John is correct, at 10.00 and slower all you need is a state-issued driver's license and a competition number. </edit>

You do not need a competition license for ET's over 10.00. At least that would be my guess.

I would say yes it does. Bring any of them around the sportsman pits after hours.... They will fear for their safety

if you go quicker than 9.99 in the 1/4 mile you have to get a competition licence. anything slowe than 10.00, a regular state issued licence is needed, plus a competition number. I usually run 12.70's with my camaro and I just have my regular licence and my # M380 that was issued by NHRA
