New Chute Rules (1 Viewer)

if the air cannon (leahy device) and the physical chute levers are now mandated to act independently of each other, why not just have the leahy device triggered remotely at
the finish line of every single funny car race? the crew chief can also trigger it in event zero thru 1000' incident, and then the actual chute levers are there for the driver to
use at anytime during the run as well, but the chutes deploy via air cannon as car passes finish line

double protection in case one system fails.

of course, but what i'm suggesting is if the two systems are now mandated to be operated separately, why not just
have the leahy device automatically engage via remote sensor at finish line for every FC on every run? even if they are coasting across at 80 mph,
the chutes will still open ...... the system can be engaged 3 ways. team member on starting line with box, the actual driver, and automatic at finish line.

But what happens when the driver is so conditioned to relying on it to open automatically, and by the time he releases it didn't open he has used up a lot of track. Hello SANDTRAP at best.
