Can't believe Eric's been gone 5 years now!
Don't know which was worse; being there in person on Monday & seeing the crash or being back home by Friday, alone and not being there to comfort that certain lady!
RIP & miss ya bunches Eric!!

Lisa can correct me if i'm wrong but I think we were pretty close to the starting line & it didn't seem so bad! To me, Ashleys & Johns looked worse but I wasn't there for Johns.

What I remember most was we didn't "run" down to the accident. By the time we got there, we helped Alan back across that wire fence and the look on his face & what he said to us is permanently etched in my brain.

We were more around 800 ft or so, and it still seemed like a hard hit to me from there. I still couldn't have imagined it would be as bad as it was. I remember that about Alan too.

JFR's tribute to Eric is really beautiful. I suggest watching with Kleenex and ice cream.

I remember I was sitting in the TEC area taking pics. It didn't look that bad from where I was sitting either. I didn't run down there either, but I did walk down there after walking by the Force pits. Then I went down to see what was going on. I kinda wished I didn't.
