Can't believe Eric's been gone 5 years now!
Don't know which was worse; being there in person on Monday & seeing the crash or being back home by Friday, alone and not being there to comfort that certain lady!
RIP & miss ya bunches Eric!!

It was worse for me seeing the accident. There is not a day that goes by that I don't think about him. :( I'm going to Dairy Queen now!!!! lol

Think I can get the semi into DQ's drive-thru? LOL

Lisa can correct me if i'm wrong but I think we were pretty close to the starting line & it didn't seem so bad! To me, Ashleys & Johns looked worse but I wasn't there for Johns.

What I remember most was we didn't "run" down to the accident. By the time we got there, we helped Alan back across that wire fence and the look on his face & what he said to us is permanently etched in my brain.

DQ tonite!

We were more around 800 ft or so, and it still seemed like a hard hit to me from there. I still couldn't have imagined it would be as bad as it was. I remember that about Alan too. :(

JFR's tribute to Eric is really beautiful. I suggest watching with Kleenex and ice cream.

Wow...that's very moving and very well done. He was one of a kind and will always be missed as long as there is one of us left who laughed with him. God bless you Eric and God bless your actual and your racing family.

I remember I was sitting in the TEC area taking pics. It didn't look that bad from where I was sitting either. I didn't run down there either, but I did walk down there after walking by the Force pits. Then I went down to see what was going on. I kinda wished I didn't. :(
