I grew up in Glendale, Calif. The original Nat'l Dragster office was in Glendale, in a little building a couple of block from Brand Blvd. I usta stop by there when I was 13-14 & they would show me black & white photos taken at the drags. I thought that was soooooo cool! Anyhoo, saw this article on NHRA site & thought I'd pass it on.

I gotta remember "dirt nap". Dick Van Dyke wrote a book on getting older. Was originally gonna call it "Circling the Drain", but they made him change the title. HA!

I remember waiting for ND to come as a kid, getting race results 2 weeks after the fact, lol. And, there were a few times between the late 60s-early70s when my dad was running his A/A, that we'd see a pic of his car, one was a wheels up shot at Indy in '69. I went nuts and my poor dad had to pry the issue out of my hands so he could see it, lol. Also, when he set the national record, his name was in the back with all the class records for almost a year, which was very cool. Which brings up a question, does ND not list record holders any longer?

When I was a kid, a friend & I used to wait at Hamam's Store in Niagara Falls NY to arrive. (The late Carl Hamam sold ND at Niagara.) Nowadays, I wouldn't go near it. :(
