Not just tonight and tomorrow. Guess where she's playing next weekend? Seattle. And the weekend after that? San Francisco. Either it's a crazy coincidence, or Taylor Swift has drag racing fans on her road crew...

Either way, I feel for everyone trying to find hotel rooms for these next 3 races that aren't a thousand dollars a night
San Francisco and Seattle? Guarantee you it has nothing to do with drag racing. ;)

Speaking of the Nationals, I see Arana Jr. tried his best to put his PSM in the 6s as a fitting sendoff and just missed, setting a track record 7.04. Hagen and Force laid down some righteous passes but the rest were pretty much meh. Lots of early shutoffs in the nitro classes, even when the conditions improved for Q2. Goes to show you that after all these years, the Mountain is still in control when it comes to tuning a fuel car.

I think nitro makes up for the high altitude. Have noticed that at Denver the last several years. T?f especially running very close to sea level. I'd think that downforce is the biggest problem at Denver.

BTW, all 16 P/S cars in the 6's. I think that is the first time at Denver. Man I hate seeing that track go away! I did have a chance to visit there once & made a hugh impression on me.

Congratulations to Clay Millican, that win has been a long time coming and was well deserved.

A long time coming.........since May and their Chicago win : ) Two wins this year is great news for that team. And some good vindication for Jim O as it seemed he had lost his way with the Kalitta Team and ended up being let go, but they haven't done much better with Alan Johnson making the calls.

And while the Dejoria team made the finals due to Del Worsham's tuning calls, it was another absolutely dismal performance by Alexis on the tree. What is wrong with her? She's got nothing to do all day but sit with the practice tree, yet her lights are consistently terrible. Unless there is something off with the way the car responds to the throttle, she needs to get her s...t together. At least her lousy light in the Final did not cost her the victory.

Maybe a private session at Frank Hawley's for a couple of days is in order.

I still don't believe my eyes. How do you run 337 mph when the density altitude is 8,747 feet (Drag Race Central)?
I think Grubnic, in a farewell parting shot, threw every tuning trick in the book at that car. A tune that would have had no chance of holding (or staying together) at sea level. Timing, blower overdrive, compression ratio, whatever. That's 7mph over the long-standing record of 330 in conditions that were good but not stellar. Soften the clutch to keep from blowing the tires off on the front half thanks to the monster tune; add enough wing to keep from blowing the tires off on the back half and voila - one that'll be talked about for a long, long time.

I'm concerned that Grubnic was quoted as saying he is "developing a new program".... So maybe that's why they hardly got down the track all weekend except for the record run. And they smoked the tires in Rd 1. Grubnic almost always gets that car down the track. So are we looking at the rest of the year for Brittany like the mediocre year the Torrance Team had last year when they couldn't leave well enough alone? Torrance had to mess with a proven tune-up that won them - what - 4 Championships? Once in a while these crew chiefs find lightening in a bottle and I would think they would stick with it as long as possible, as long as it produces results. If it works, DON"T fix it.

Took my grandson to his first event Friday. Arrived @ 2pm (7.5 hour drive). Purchased the last 2 seats next to each other in the west grandstands the Sunday prior. Couldn’t believe the amount of spectators (for a Friday).

Taylor Swift forced me financially, to stay south of Colorado Springs Friday night. 🤑

Compared to a few years ago, understandably & unfortunately, the facility looked pretty run down, but was still a good show. Stayed till the end after a little break between nitro sessions to let the little guy “reset”. Pops made him take in all there was to see. Asked him if he wanted his pic taken with the “Queen of Speed’s” car, “No.” 😀

Was pleased as to what was allowed to be brought inside the gates, food & beverage wise. 👍

My only rant…been to several different sporting events in the last couple years…”Why TF can’t people sit in their assigned seats?!?!?!” Now l know what guns aren’t allowed in. 😏

I guess I should've explained myself better. I meant he is no longer in the "also ran" group of drivers.

Sounds like you had fun. Busy weekend in the Denver area with the Yankees in town as well. The hotel prices are never cheap in the nicer areas close to the track. Sucks that you had to drive so far on Friday. The facility really hasn’t changed much in the last 30 years. Outside of Charlotte, Vegas and maybe Norwalk, the national event facilities have seen better days. Tracks generally don’t update the facility unless they have to because of the cost involved. I’ve been to both Chicago and Dallas in the last year and expected to see the tracks in better shape than what they were.

I noticed her reaction times as well (throughout the event), BUT, as has been discussed before, how the car reacts can be effected by how the car is set up. Being in Denver, which requires a totally different set-up, we shouldn't be so quick to slam Alexis on her rt's.

Here R/T's are almost always terrible, regardless of the track. This is nothing new. If it was really the car, I'm sure Del would have already addressed it.

Alexis isn't great on the tree but this weekend was way out of the ordinary. Had to be heat related. I think the broadcast booth even alluded to that. I wouldn't hold it against her.
