hopefully there will be a lot of media coverage on the mountain, with plenty of aerial photos and videos capturing this last event.
hope for good weather......i see paul lee has withdrawn from FC leaving a couple slots open

They had a hailstorm go through there a week or so ago; it happened in the evening, while a concert was going on over at Red Rocks on the other side. A lot of people got hurt and had absolutely nowhere to run for cover. All I could think was…glad that wasn’t during a major event at the racetrack.

In my heart, I want to believe that this won’t be the last national event hosted by the Bandimeres……. But I think the next one will still be well above sea level… Just not carved into the side of a mountain.

Saturday is already a complete sellout. I’ve never seen that all tickets were sold 10 days prior to an event. I expect the other days to be close to sellouts as well.

Saturday was sold out last weekend if not earlier when I was checking tickets for a friend of mine up there.

it's sure looking like short FC field this weekend. good that TF drew 16. it's got to be a tough sell for an independent fuel team
to commit to racing at high altitude. weather forecast sure looks good. very sad to see this place go. was there only once during mid-week.
this old photo taken from road winding up backside over by red rocks. had to have been around mid 90's.

Only two tickets available on the west side for Sunday. Quite a few sections are sold out on the east side as well.

Latest local news now reporting the owners are working to secure new land out by the Denver International Airport. Possibly opening in 2025?? That’s around 5400 in elevation there. Hope it comes together.

I certainly know they are trying to do something. There is always a lot of red tape when trying to do something like this but hoping they can pull it off.

John Jr. said yesterday at the press conference that he had talked to a number of people about potential places to move, but had not found anything as of yet.

Comp Plus article states they are looking at 1,100 acres out by the Denver Airport. While there is a lot of land out there, the existence of the new airport location is bring new development that way as well.

will probably find the acreage needed, but then at last second, amazon or a lithium car battery company will announce
they need that exact location

This makes no sense at all to move out near the airport. That area is already filling up with low-end housing tracts, and they are growing by the day. The airport today is way too close to Denver suburban sprawl, which is what they need to get away from. It would be nice to get 25 years out of a new location before being forced to close down again, but they will need to be at least 50 miles east of town to get to any kind of life span out of a new strip.

I'm sure they made out quite well when they sold their property, and good for them for that, but I will be surprised if they actually end up building a new track.

Sorry dont see this happening,i hope im wrong. 1st they have to find a place then have to get approved, etc etc

the article states a future multi-purpose facility would likely not have the bandimere name in the title, and would have other investors.
i think something will be built, and the nhra will again stop there annually. best guess is a road circuit will also be part of it, and built to
attract indy cars and/or nascar

Almost two years ago, the discussion about Bandimere's future was the subject of this thread:

Check out the screen grab of what the developer of the property across the highway had to say about the track.

those Lennar built luxury homes rite across hwy from track.....800k and up. built rite next to each other. no acreage whatsoever. sorry, not for me.

Bandimere was not forced to sell because of their neighbors. They have for years rented land from the Peterson family who owns the property directly to the east of Bandimere. He decided to sell his land, most likely to a home development, and this is the last year in which Bandimere can rent his land for extra parking and overflow equipment needed for the larger events like the Mile High Nationals. Without his land, they do not have enough space to continue. They were also approached with an offer and agreed that it was the right time to sell. Eventually they would be forced out by their neighbors but that is not the reason they are leaving. I personally talked to Tami Bandimere during the regional event and she said they have been in talks about purchasing land but nothing was a done deal at that point.

In regards to THIS weekend…. If you’re wondering how the ladies will fare up here in Denver …. Hate to say it, but one girl already has this weekend wrapped up, in the bag, and will absolutely out-do and out-shine your favorite driver. Taylor Swift concert Saturday night at Broncos Stadium. Enjoy the traffic 😆

Not just tonight and tomorrow. Guess where she's playing next weekend? Seattle. And the weekend after that? San Francisco. Either it's a crazy coincidence, or Taylor Swift has drag racing fans on her road crew...

Either way, I feel for everyone trying to find hotel rooms for these next 3 races that aren't a thousand dollars a night

Paid $125/night in Des Moines for race weekend in Seattle. Right on Puget Sound. 15 min drive to the track.
Now, the Blue Jays are in town next weekend and we were going to stay by the ballpark Fri night and catch the game, but yes, Taylor is in town and rates are over $450 for shit hotels. Doubt I'll even venture into downtown Seattle next weekend.
