Mike Kosky has announced that Redding will be his last race. Mike is a fellow Mater and has raced over 50 years, he has won major events with 3 different types of engines. In 2007 he had a major injuries in a accident, Not in a race car but in a LAWN MOWER roll over .🤣I would like too personally congratulate on a GREAT LONG career. Well done Mike.
PS; Mike is #17 and missed qualifying at PA by 5 MPH. he had the same ET as #16
Larry Sutton---🤠

Saw Mike Mike make a wheels up pass in Vegas from down on the starting, what a bad ass pass, never back peddled , had to go to his pit and tell him that, thanks for the memories Mike, your competitive drive and hard work was assume to watch and will be missed, 👍👀

He was a die-hard that I'm sad to see go. Was there in E-Town for his first 2 national event wins in 1987 and 1988. Also in 1999 Reading, as well as his very last win in 2011 also at Reading. Was so remarkable for him to get another national event win after 12 years of a dry spell, and the final couldn't have been closer; here is the detailed data from DRC:

MOHNTON, Pa. - Results of final, round 4 eliminations in Top Alcohol Dragster at the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, 27th annual Auto-Plus NHRA Nationals:

Weather conditions: air temperature 57 degrees, relative humidity 62 percent, barometer 29.42 inches, adjusted altitude 942 feet, track temperature 69 degrees.
This is the first time Kosky and Severance have faced each other in eliminations. this is a great drag race with Severance getting the starting line advantage, but Kosky is able to chase him down by half track and takes the win. This is Kosky's third National event win here and his first here since here 1999. Mike Kosky's MOV: 0.0048 seconds (approximately 23 inches). Kosky with his quickest pass of the weekend.

Well, Mike is only 82-1/2, the Greek made it to 93, but like the Greek has said "Hard to run your race car on Social Security"....but he did have some help from Strange, Lucas and Shumacher. Mike and Janet do this out of pocket ! I'm proud to call you both friends !!
