Mike Janis Racing Searching for Consistency at Budds Creek

Elma, NY – Nineteen and counting. That's what's on the minds of the Mike Janis Racing Team. Heading into the 08' season Mike Janis had nineteen career wins and was second on the IHRA Pro Modifieds All-Time win list. By this time of the season they were hoping to add to that total and move closer to becoming the IHRA's All -Time win leader, but heading into the fourth race of 08' season the team is still looking for their first win.

"It's just been one thing after another biting us," said crew chief Mike Janis Jr. "The worst part is it's not something we're doing. It's not something that we can just adjust to. It's small things that are breaking or moving, just gremlins I guess".

After a second round loss at the Motor City Nationals, Janis and his team put their collective nose to the grindstone and went over their ride with a fine-toothed comb. The car was almost completely disassembled, the entire driveline was removed, engines were tore down, re built, and run on the dyno before the car was put back together.

"It's been a busy few weeks, but we're just crossing our T's so to speak. Our engine program is second to none and our numbers both this season and last prove that. We just need to start going rounds on more of a consistent basis," said team owner/driver Mike Janis.

Janis will be looking to go rounds at this weeks up-coming Torco Race Fuels President's Cup Nationals. The President's Cup Nationals are held from June 13-15at Maryland International Raceway in Budds Creek, MD.
