Michael Andretti in the pits at the Toyo Tires Nats. What year and for whom did he drive TF? Someone out there knows;)

I seem to recall that John runner-upped at his first or second event - Memphis (I think).

On a related note, I took a good (Drag Race Virgin and BIG Baseball fan) friend to the Englishtown race that (or the next year) and he was SOOOO impressed to meet Jack Clark. I was pretty impressed too as Jack gave us a personal tour of his trailer. Couldn't be nicer or more gracious! (I think it was the first time I'd ever been behind the ropes.)

unless they moved .. i believe most of the Andretti's live not to far from the Grove.. i know the old Nazareth oval was always called theri home track when it was on the old CART and IRL schedules....

Didn't that little excursion into TF almost bankrupt Jack Clark?

If memory serves Jack was in trouble with the IRS but was able to keep his TF team as it was a possible revenue producer. Any time you have something, like a business, that could make money the IRS will usually let you keep it. That way you hopefully can continue to pay them.
My feeling is that his money issues went deeper then the TF team.

There are too many Red Sox fans on here for my liking, then what do I care for the American league. :P

Go Mets.

Sorry for the Hijack! :)

Timmah!

as with MC Hammer's short appearance in drag racing history:rolleyes:

Holly Cow Jack!!! Until you bought that up, I had totally forgotten about that deal. I remember the rendering appearing in Drag Racing Magazine circa 1990 or early 91 'Hammertime' Need to see if I still have that.

Who was to drive that again?

Maurice Dupont drove for MC Hammer. I believe it wasn't really Hammer's team but he kicked in some bucks. The hard parts belonged to someone else.
