Price of copper has apparently risen enough to make stealing anything profitable again. Last night perps stripped the wiring out of three electrical services in our building (one of which was live - 
) and the backflow preventer for the water system. Result - no fire alarms and no water.
Last spring one of our air conditioners (along with three from Dollar Tree next door) was stolen off the roof and our other unit was damaged beyond repair.
It's frustrating that there are laws in place that supposedly prevent scrap dealers from paying cash for metal without obtaining a valid ID from the seller and keeping records. -
