WHAT:
The King is back! 69-time national event winner and NHRA legend Kenny Bernstein, aka the King of Speed, will swap seats with 72-time event champ Antron Brown on Friday during the NHRA Mile-High Nationals. Bernstein will warm-up Brown’s 11,000-horsepower Matco Tools/Lucas Oil Top Fuel dragster in preparation for the event’s first qualifying session. The occasion will mark Bernstein’s first time returning to the seat of a nitro car since 2007.
Following the warm-up, the two ‘top 10 winningest NHRA drivers’ will be available for interview.

Both Brown and Bernstein are among the top 10 winningest drivers in NHRA history across the sport’s four professional categories:
Brown – ranked seventh with 72 wins (56 Top Fuel, 16 Pro Stock Motorcycle)
Bernstein – ranked eighth with 69 wins (39 Top Fuel, 30 Funny Car)
Brown is a three-time event champion at Bandimere Speedway, while Bernstein owns four Denver victories
Brown tied Bernstein’s record of 69 career wins when he captured his first victory as a team owner during the 2022 Menards NHRA Nationals in Topeka, Kan.
Bernstein earned the ‘King of Speed’ moniker when he became the first NHRA driver to break the 300-mph barrier in 1992, and was the first driver to win championships in both nitro classes
