MAX NAYLOR QUALIFIES ON TOP AND SETS TRACK RECORD

MILLINGTON, Tenn. – For the second consecutive race, Max Naylor is on top of the NHRA Pro Stock qualifying sheet with his second career pole, and a track E.T. record to go along with it.

Naylor surprised many by scoring his first No. 1 qualifying position at the biggest race of the year, the Mac Tools U.S. Nationals in Indianapolis two weeks ago. Following that effort, Naylor and the Jagermeister team rolled in to Memphis determined to prove it was not a fluke.

The sophomore driver of the Jagermeister Dodge Hemi Stratus did not disappoint, topping the field with another stellar performance, covering the quarter mile in 6.59 seconds, a track E.T. record for Memphis Motorsports Park.

“I’m just really excited for my whole team,” said Naylor, “Everyone has worked really hard for this and I’m glad we were able to repeat as the top qualifiers and demonstrate that we are a top contender in the Pro Stock class.”

Naylor added, “I’m happy that so many fans turned out for the race this weekend, and we hope to show them a winning effort tomorrow.”

A former track owner and sportsman racer from New Buffalo, Pa., Naylor is enjoying his second season as a professional driver in the NHRA POWERade Pro Stock class.

The 20th annual O'Reilly Mid-South Nationals presented by Pennzoil runs from Sept. 14 – 16 at Memphis Motorsports Park in Millington, Tenn. It is the 19th of 23 national events in the 2007 NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series.
