Matt Smith is Hoping that Testing Will Pay Off

Matt Smith and his Torco Race Fuels crew spent this past Monday testing at Memphis. Working with his Buell throughout the day, Smith improved drastically on his setup and is ready to take on the Dallas drag strip this weekend.

“We ran great,” said Smith. “We changed a few things in order to make the bike 60 foot better and it definitely worked out for us. We ran incredible numbers down low. We hope we finally got the bike back running like it was at the beginning of the year.”

Smith along with the rest of the POWERade Pro Stock Motorcycle riders will head to Dallas, Texas this weekend to race for the first time. The Dallas race was added on to the bike schedule this year, so no one will have a truly great setup in the beginning.

“It is going to be a challenge,” said Smith. “The good thing is that our team is not the only team that has not raced here. Every bike team out here will be facing the same challenges. Hopefully we can find a good setup, run well and stay in the top-four.”

As the last race for the bikes before the cutoff for the Countdown to One, Smith sits second in the POWERade points and is hoping to finish out this weekend in the top-four.
