(May 19, 2011) Mooresville, NC - The action packed Mad Dawg Jam-A-Rama event returns to the legendary Mooresville Dragway Memorial Day weekend May 27 and 28. Featured on Saturday, May 28 will be the Quick 8 Mad Dawgs and Stick Shift Championships, along with ALL DOOR CARS and Par Racing Engines TOP Dragster. There will be no weight rules in effect for the two Quick 8 Mad Dawgs in 2011 at Mooresville Dragway. Basically “old skool” run whatch you brung” style Quick 8 with no screw style blowers allowed.
Darren Hoyle of Taylorsville , NC in his 1968 Chevrolet Camaro is the defending race champion for the “no rules” Quick 8 Mad Dawg class. Local favorites Bobby Baucom of Charlotte, NC in his super charged Camaro and Robbie Keziah of Charlotte, NC with his nitrous fed TM built Corvette will be looking to keep the two time Mad Dawg winner Chris Rini of Carmel, NY out of the winner’s circle with his new ATI Performance Bickel built Camaro.
The “Yanks” have already turned out a sub-four second run on the Mooresville 1/8 mile at over 190 MPH. Rini is hoping to be one of the first Quick 8 Mad Dawg cars to get in the elite eight Mega Machine Shop 3 second club Memorial Day weekend. Other Quick 8 Mad Dawg entries to look out for will be veteran Quick 8 warrior Buzz Varner driving Don Plemmons 104/ WTQR Corvette and three time Quick 8 Racers Assoc. champion Ken Regenthal.
Regenthal, the concrete man from Lewisville, NC will be a busy man on May 28 at Mooresville Dragway. The three time Quick 8 Racers Assoc. champion will be competing not only in the powerful Quick 8 Mad Dawg race with his ’63 “Carolina Hooker” Corvette, but in the 2nd Annual Stick Shift Championships with his gear jamming ’64 Chevrolet Corvette. Regenthal, will be looking to double up with a Quick 8 Mad Dawg and Stick Shift Championship victory.
The 2nd annual Stick Shift Championship Jam-A-Rama, will feature the best of the 4 and 5 speed world of stick shift racing. Leading the way is the 2010 race winner Larry Leazer of Mooresville, NC in his Chevrolet Camaro, who defeated James Stoneman of Winston-Salem, NC for the first Stick Shift Championships at Mooresville. Plus will have our Stick Shift Ride Along for Jim Bostian, the gateman at Mooresville that was injured in an accident back in April.

All Door cars running 0 to 5.99 will compete together in the 5 second bonus race till one car.
Par Racing TOP Dragster (All open Bodied cars 0 to 5.99) (Note; the quickest 4 Open Bodied cars running together with the winner advancing into the next round of Top Dragster).
Foot Brake Doors (All run No Electronics) (All 0 to 6.49 Foot Brake cars will compete together until one car and the winner advances into regular Foot Brake).
Street Legal (All RUN) Must be a street legal vehicle. DOT tires, NO Slicks. Can be trailered.
Teen Dawg Racers- For young racers ages 13 to 17. Must be a 10.00 second and slower street vehicle. A Parent or guardian must ride along with the Teen Dawg Racer when they compete.
