HEBRON, OH (August 20, 2009) Cody Barklage and Lucas Oil will race this weekend’s The Summit Racing Equipment Ohio Drags III, which is the eighth of 10 races in the 2009 National Guard ADRL Tour. With this event and only one other event left in the year to secure a spot in the coveted Battle of the Belts, every run needs to be the best possible.
“So far, we’ve been able to achieve our goals each weekend,” said Barklage. “We always want to do well, but it’s now crunch time. We must make every round count and do the best possible. The goal for the season was to make it to the Battle of the Belts. In Pro Mod racing, to make it to the battle proves you’re one of the best teams in the world.”
After having a top ½ qualifying start and making a semi-final appearance in St. Louis just two weeks ago, Barklage and team are focused to keep the momentum going.
“The car and team has done well so far,” Barklage went on to say. “With this weekend and only one other weekend that will count towards the battle, we need to make it count. As with every weekend, our goal is to put the Goodyear’s to the pavement and make some clean passes. We’ve had our share of tough times lately, but this season has proved we still have what it takes to be real contenders.”
The Summit Racing Equipment Ohio Drags III will take place August 21 – 22, 2009 at National Trail Raceway – Hebron, Ohio. On Friday, August 21, Spectator gates will open at 9:00 am. Rd.1 of qualifying to start at noon.
