BARKLAGE RACING TEAMS UP WITH U.S. MARINE CORPS
Cody Barklage Seeking Points Lead

August 9, 2007 (JOLIET, ILL) – Not only will Cody and Zach Barklage have typical race anticipation, the team will be busy concentrating on grasping the points lead in the Aeromotive Fuel Systems Nitro Coupe class in this weeks Super Chevy Show. Cody Barklage will enter competition only 20 points behind the leader and the young driver is proving he is hungry for another win. To add to the excitement of the weekend, Barklage Racing will once again team up with the U.S. Marine Corps and help host a local recruiting effort in Joliet , Ill.

“We had a lot go on in Milan , the last Super Chevy Race,” said Cody Barklage. “It hurt us in points and hurt our team. Because of a racing incident, I was treated very unfairly by the track staff in Milan last race, but that is all behind us now. My job it to concentrate on this week and work to gain the points lead over Tony Williams. We had a week off to repair, re-group and re-think our approach. I am feeling very confidant we will be a top contender this weekend.”

“We are getting very close to the end of the season,” added Zach Barklage. “We now must concentrate on running solid, clean rounds of racing. We need to qualify well with both cars. Our goal is the same every weekend; top qualifying spots, and hopefully some more all Barklage final rounds. Being consistent is always the key to winning a race and it will be vital for our team to finish strong in the Championship.”

The team will feel a very patriotic presence all weekend with the hosting of the United States Marine Corps local recruiters in Joliet . Barklage Racing has previously held fundraisers for the Semper Fi Fund, and has had strong ties to the Marines.

“Our team has had the privilege of getting to know some local Marines,” said team owner Mark Barklage. “Because of the growing relationships, we have developed a greater appreciation for all armed services personnel; particularly the Marine Corps. These people ensure our safety and the security of our country every day and we are honored to be associated with them.”

The next stop for Barklage Racing is August 17 - 19 for the Super Chevy Show in Kansas City , Missouri .
