Loved One has cancer

Some of you on the Mater know that the love of my life, Didi, is going through a battle with breast cancer. Didi was a flight attendant for ATA Airlines until last Thursday when they filed for bankruptcy and ceased all operations. So, as you can imagine, things have been flipped upside down in a very short period of time.

I've decided I need to concentrate on getting her back to 100% healthy and get some other things done this year. Part of that is my decision to try and sell my dragster.

I've got something in the works for my return next year. But in the mean time I'd like to not have the potential distraction.

Didi and I have been together for several years but we weren't planning to get married until later this year.

As alway's my prayers are with Didi for a full recovery and with you to maintain your strength. You are doing the right thing for you and Didi. If I had the money, I'd buy that car from you! We have a mutual friend who went thru this, and he's doing pretty good right now. I'll pass the message along to a buddy of mine in Nevada who's looking for a good turn key car.

Tim, it about killed me when I got the phone call from our mutual friend. You're just never prepared for your loved ones to get this kind of news.

Didi's was caught earlier. But it is an aggressive strain and she has a family history. We've been going to the Cancer Treatment Centers of America is Zion, IL because we were less than thrilled about the oncologist we had seen here at home... especially after finding out he failed to tell us about something major on one of the test he ordered. The CTCA is incredible!

We had talked about flying to Vegas this weekend and going ahead and tying the knot until we found out my insurance wouldn't let her continue to go the CTCA.

Greg, i don't know You and Didi but our prayers are with you both. I've been through adversities in the last 20 years and the main thing that keeps me going is never giving up. In my 30 + yrs in Drag Racing there's one thing that always stands out is that we are one big family and if there's anything you need just let us know.

One of my grandmothers had breast cancer & died. One of my Aunts had breast cancer and beat it, over 10 years now. I firmly believe the difference was attitude and positive thinking. CTCA treats the whole person and I'm so glad to hear Didi has been receiving treatment there. In addition to praying for her healing, I will also pray for a reversal of the insurance company's decision. She needs this kind of treatment that does not just focus on the body. Much can be accomplished through prayer and spiritual guidance.
