Long TIme ND reporter Chris Martin passes away!

Chris Martin whom I met and knew when he worked for NHRA in the 90's passed away. He was 63 years old! Godspeed my friend!!!

I had the fortune and misfortune to live with Chris Martin for the last year of his life, here are some observations by other friends:

It's a cliche' but Chris forgot more about drag racing than most of us know.

I missed his Tricky Tipster "projections"...especially when they made him tone down how long the long shots really were (1,000 to 1 odds anyone)...and the story of him being called to the carpet for the satirical version of NHRA's weekly interoffice "newsletter".

Prayers be with you Mr. Martin. Say hello to Leslie and Crites for me.

I got the opportunity to work with Chris when I served an internship at NHRA in 1988. Both he and Les were the greatest.
