Lighting in Dallas?

I thought most NHRA championship tracks had upgraded their lighting (Musco?) several years ago.
Dallas Friday evening looked 'kinda scary dark to me (and, I think, Courtney commented during her top end interview).
BTW: I've been at Englishtown, then, looked at the Friday night broadcast and the TV always looked MUCH LIGHTER than it seemed at the track.
Anybody shed light on this?

Doesn't surprise me. From the looks of it very little money has been spent on this place since it was built in 1986. I go to 9 or 10 races a year and Texas Motorplex is the biggest dump of them all. Makes Pomona look like Zmax!

A number of drivers talked about how dark it was last night. I could have swore I also heard that the lights are new, if they are indeed new, they must have forgot the lights up on the top end. Houston just installed new lights this year and it made a huge difference. Before the upgrade, I never saw a track raced on so dark from half track on, it was bad.

They added four new light towers and had me optimistic that the light would be drastically better but I knew we were screwed when I was able to look directly into the lights when they were on and it didn't even hurt my eyes.

Does Billy still own the track? If so you'd think that as a former driver, he'd know how important proper lightning is.

Try taking off your sunglasses first!

They added 5 new light towers just prior to the event. I was optimistic it would be much better but was kinda let down myself.
