MELVILLE, New York/WOODINVILLE, Wash. (August 18, 2008) - Lend America, recently ranked 12th largest direct-to-consumer FHA lender in the nation, announced today that the company will claim the title-rights sponsorship position on current IHRA nitro Funny Car points-leader Terry Haddock's 2006 Dodge Stratus and join the 37-year-old Haddock in his quest for his first IHRA championship.

In just his third year of IHRA Funny Car competition, Haddock has taken the break-away points lead on the strength of consistent qualifying performances and an event win in Grand Bend, Ontario Canada, and with just three events remaining on the IHRA schedule he stands 42 points ahead of Paul Lee, not including an additional 41 points he will earn for having attended every event this season.

"Terry is one of those guys who has a dream and commits himself to it," said Lend America Chief Business Strategist and two-time world champion drag racer Mike Ashley. "I'm really proud to have him carry the Lend America banner in the IHRA and I'm confident that he has great chance of taking home the Championship title this fall."

Haddock said, "Lend America couldn't have picked a better time to join us. We've got great momentum coming into the home stretch, and as long as we keep doing what we've been doing, we can win this thing.

"It's exciting for me to have Mike behind us, because he is such a role model for me. He's always positive, very encouraging, and a great motivation. I've really had to bootstrap the whole season, and with Lend America on board, we can be sure we won't be bitten by things like blower belts that should be changed every round but we had to recycle to save on parts costs. It'd be tragic if we lost the championship because of a belt or something like that," Haddock said.

Ashley said he sees a lot of himself in Terry, and that he's looking forward to working with him and his team. "They've got a whole lot of potential, and they are on top of the pack in IHRA. With an all-volunteer team and a privately-supported operation, Terry has done miracles to get this far, and I'm glad we can come in and help him through the final stretch of the season.

"I want nothing more than to see Terry's dreams of winning the World Championship come true," Ashley added.

Haddock and the Lend America Stratus compete next in Tulsa, Okla. this coming weekend, August 22-24.
