What about the holeshot that Reid Whisnant put on Iaconia to knock him out of the championship.

Two great drivers passed in 1985. Defending IHRA Top Sportsman champion, Don Young, from Carrolton, Georgia was killed at Bristol in 1985. His best friend, David Rampy helped pick up the pieces from the crash and then went out and won the race in his memory.

Great tribute, The first time I was in Gainesville was right after he was killed,they brought the pro stock field down the track in a missing man formation. Talk about chills, and not from the 40 degree temps that day.....
