Last remnents of OCIR are gone (1 Viewer)

I had to take my truck in for a fuel pump replacement today at the GMC dealer in South Orange County. There is a Metrolink station across the street from the dealer so I took the train into work. As we passed by the former Marine Corps Air Station El Toro, I looked out of the train window at where the sand trap for the old OCIR dragstrip used to be and saw that any previous traces of the trap were gone and the land is being graded for more construction. Probably more office park buildings to join the current crop of buildings that now reside on what once was a first class dragstrip.

Kinda sad but it's progress. I guess...

Hey Mike, ever go to the saturday morning cruise at the ford building across the 5 freeway from the old OCIR? Try it, starts about 7am and is done by 9. Pretty awesome.
