Team to Regroup, Get Ready for Dallas Race This Weekend

MEMPHIS, Sept. 16, 2007 -- Eddie Guarnaccia just shook his head when talking about Kenny Koretsky not qualifying for the O'Reilly Mid-South Nationals at Memphis Motorsports Park.

"This was just like our race at Gainesville (Fla., in March) when weren't able to make a good qualifying run on all four tries," said Koretsky's longtime crew chief. "We tested at St. Louis before coming here and did ran well. Then we came here under somewhat similar conditions and didn't get it together."

The performance was disheartening because Koretsky was a semifinalist at the U.S. Nationals two weeks ago. His best qualifying time at Memphis was 6.726 seconds at 206.07 mph, but it was 22nd overall.

"We didn't find the setup for the track and atmospheric conditions that made the car happy," added Guarnaccia.

Koretsky and the team move to the Texas Motorplex in Ennis, near Dallas, for the Fall Nationals, Friday through Sunday.
