When Evan Knoll speaks, people listen. His unprecedented support of NHRA and IHRA teams, series and events confirms the true heart of a man who simply loves drag racing and the people involved in a way that words cannot describe. To be included in his fold would be any racer's dream come true.
"Evan asked me if we'd like to do some races for him which brought us to 2007," said Randy Goodwin. "I have to admit I got a little emotional when he contacted me. He has his heart and soul in drag racing and to be asked to be included in his multi-car empire is very humbling and truly an honor."
Veteran former NHRA Lucas Oil Division 7 Champion Pete Swayne has once again been tapped to drive the KNOLL GAS MOTORSPORTS/TORCO Racing Fuels Top Alcohol Funny Car team machine for the 2007 season.
"I'm very excited to get back on track," said Swayne. "We have a proven machine with multiple runs in the 5.50's. There is no reason we shouldn't continue to be a contender every time we roll through the gate."
The team will concentrate primarily on Western United States NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series events in search of another Lucas Oil Division Championship.
"All this would not be possible without the generous support of Evan Knoll, KNOLL GAS MOTORSPORTS and TORCO Racing Fuels" said Goodwin. "2007 is going to be a very exciting year for us!"
