Conway Automotive A/FD continues partnership with Knoll Gas Motorsports

JOLIET, Ill. - Defending NHRA Top Alcohol Dragster World Champion Team Owner/Crew Chief Tom Conway announced today that the Conway Automotive A/Fuel Dragster will continue their marketing partnership with Knoll Gas Motorsports and the Torco Race Fuels line of products. The team will once again compete with driver Lee Callaway at the wheel during this weekend's NHRA Division 3 Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event at Route 66 Raceway just outside of Chicago.

Conway, who operates his team from Tulsa, Okla., is pleased to continue his partnership with Evan Knoll's line of companies following the departure of former driver Steve Torrence.

"We would like to thank Evan Knoll and everyone at Torco Race Fuels for their continued support of the Conway Automotive team," stated Conway. "We look forward to representing Knoll Gas Motorsports, Torco Race Fuels and Skull Gear for the remainder of the 2006 season."

While no permanent announcement has been made regarding the driver position, the team will continue to pursue both a second-straight World Championship and Division 4 Championship with Callaway at the wheel. Callaway, a former Division 4 Champion, wheeled the Conway Automotive machine to a runner-up finish in his first outing two weeks ago in Rusk, Texas.

Despite starting late in the year, Callaway has only been to two races, leaving him six more races to claim towards his divisional points total. He has only attended one national event, leaving him seven more nationals to claim.

"We're getting a late start, but we're not giving up on the championship," stated Team Manager Shane Conway. "The bottom line is we want to go to the line and win rounds. Like the old saying goes, if you win the rounds, the points will take care of themselves."
