Justin Bieber and "drag racing"

please, the media will always report it as drag racing - it is a familiar term; two cars racing in a straight line.
and today (1/23) when you google 'drag racing', 7 of the first 10 searches relate to the beiber story.
there you have it.

You're Canadian, right? If so, I bet you cringe every time Bieber is in the news. Not the best export of Canada, that's for sure.
Tom, i think we are the ones that should be a little embarrassed. From what i have noticed he was a pretty good kid until he came here and started hanging out with our rappers.

We also have Miley Cyrus, which is completely our fault. So much crappy music now-a-days. I like a little bit of country, too, despite my usual hard rock listening, but they don't make country stars like they used to. Too much over produced, mass marketed stuff.

ok force entertainment, this your moment to shine.
get one of your many display cars off the rack in yorba linda - contact the grammys - have JFR funny car roll onto
stage (with miami beach style wrap).....roof hatch opens and out comes bieber singing/rapping.....he ends song
and says 'what i did in miami is not lawful or safe and is not drag racing', gestures to car and says 'this is drag
racing, check it out with the NHRA'
somebody step up and pay him....could reach more eyeballs in a minute than 5 years of nhra espn telecasts

You know what? It's a damn shame this couldn't be arranged. That's a pretty slick idea......

Lots of thoughts here: first off, he was involved in a speed contest of some sort, in a high performance, high dollar Italian car and the report I saw on the news said he was going 55-60 in a 35. Seriously? I live on a street with a 35 limit, people go by at 50+ all day in muddy pickups and nobody bats an eye, yet some butt-puppet singer does it in a Lambo and it's round-the-clock news? Second, I used to play touch-football at my cousin's house in the street when we got together and we never called it "street-ball". Two cars going thru the gears in a competitive manner is drag racing whether we like it or not. I seriously doubt anyone is going to equate anything done by celebs in a spendy street car or the local punks done in Honda Civics or even the "make-believe" street racing done for TV in Oklahoma with local bracket racing or "big-business" racing done on legal strips.

Ask the media this, So does that mean if a guy attacks another with a baseball bat they were playing Baseball ????
no they are fighting, the same as if a batter in a baseball game attacks the pitcher with a baseball bat; they are no
longer playing baseball, they are fighting......not to be confused with 'kung fu fighting' :D

Why, instead of trying to define our sport..call it what it is...the kid was street racing. It's up to all of us to let the media know the difference..or you can sit on your asses and do nothing and let the black eye get larger. CNN already changed their wording because of e-mail,so it does work.

From what I've noticed he was a pretty good kid until he woke up one day and realized he was worth $130 million. Then the rest of Hollyweird realized he was worth $130 million, and all of a sudden he had lots of dubious friends and a holier than thou attitude.
