All things considered, the Lucas Oil NHRA Winternationals was a success for the Strutmasters Top Fuel Dragster Team. After all, they made their quickest run to date in Pomona, a scorching 3.72 at 323 MPH, and made it to the quarterfinals before leaving the Auto Club Raceway in sixth place in the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series.
This weekend, the 300 MPH Top Fuel action moves to Phoenix for the NHRA Arizona Nationals, which begins on Friday. Justin and the team are aiming for an even better finish in Phoenix based on the experience gained at the Lucas Oil Winternationals. "Our team has been working diligently to give ourselves the best opportunity to be successful on and off the racetrack. I’m looking forward to applying what we’ve learned from Pomona and putting our best foot forward this weekend" Justin said.
In the last couple of seasons, the trend has been for bigger fields in Phoenix along with lightning-quick performances so it will be a tougher fight just to qualify than it was in Pomona. But based on the Strutmasters team's recent history, which also receives support from Auto Shocker, KATO Fastening Systems, Lucas Oil, King Bearings and Justice Brothers, they will surely be in the thick of it this weekend
