Justin Ashley Makes it to Quarter Finals in Phoenix (1 Viewer)

It was another successful weekend for the Justin Ashley Racing-Davis Motorsports Top Fuel dragster team. On Friday, Justin secured himself a spot in the field with an impressive 3.75 ET at 315 mph.

Due to a rainstorm in the phoenix area, teams were reduced to one final qualifying session to close out the day Saturday. The team took full advantage, blazing down the track to the tune of a career best 3.70 ET at 322 mph. As a result, seeding them in the number 5 position heading into eliminations.

Sunday morning, prior to the first round of eliminations, the team went through its routine engine warm up, but a surprise electrical problem wouldn’t keep the engine lit. With a very short period of time remaining, the team identified the problem just in time to meet their first-round opponent, Scott Palmer. As the cars crossed the finish line, it was all Justin, with a 3.71 ET at 312 mph to Palmer's 3.84 ET at 288 mph.

In the second round, Justin raced Antron Brown. As the lights came down, Justin got the starting line advantage, but that's where the lead ended as the car lost traction and Justin had to abort the run. Brown was on a clean run and took the win.

Justin would like to thank Strutmasters, Auto Shocker, KATO Fastening Systems, Lucas oil, King Engine Bearings and Justice Brothers for their support this season.
