NHRA needs to change the rules on substitute drivers. Austin should have been able to collect points for Clay.

not sure that's a great idea. there are very few hired drivers left and if there was no penalty to an owner to change there would be no job security for the few remaining paid drivers.

Tasca got the points last year when he sat out because of covid, and Jonnie Lindberg drove the car.

I'm not sure how it works for a substitute, compared to a pre-entry. Which may be the difference, if that is what happened. I assumed the points would go to Clay.

Austin needs to be back out there ASAP. He is too good behind the butterfly, and in front of the camera. They need to sprinkle that $#!% everywhere.

This situation reminded me of an old TV commercial (I don't remember the product) where a guy calls in sick because he had something else to do and his boss tells him, that's OK and starts telling him what a good job his replacement is doing.
Then the guy says I'm feeling much better now, maybe I can come in this afternoon. But his boss tells him to stay home and starts bragging about what a great job his replacement is doing and the guy gets that scared look on his face.
I'm sure Clay is feeling much better.
NO, Parts Plus isn't replacing Clay, it just reminded me of that commercial.
