Jimmy Prock unhappy.

After his interview after they won the race , it sure looked like he was unhappy with a crew guy.
Not any more unhappy than Brittany Force was with her crew after her R1 smoker. LIke her Dad once said, "I'm hot as a fox right now."

Sounds like the old Minnesota Vikings head coach, Jerry Burns... mad even after a win.

Check out this press conference with Jerry after WINNING a game. He was piss*d! It's funny to the very end.

(WARNING for bad language. You've been warned.)

I think most of the top level crew chiefs are very intense and serious guys and don't turn the charm on for the cameras, especially when they are trying to process what just happened. Not being critical, just what I see. There are some exceptions like Bobby Lagana who always seems upbeat.

As much as John pays him the whole thing is on his back, a TON of pressure. If the sh*t hits the fan it hits him right in the face. Plus the natural high from winning the most of any crew chief and being a future Hall Of Famer.

This "from NHRA.com" might explain this?
They romped through the first two rounds, but an error in setting the timing in the pits before the final was almost their undoing.

"We had a brain fart setting the mags, and they were x from being perfect; and we wanted to go one way, and they accidentally went the other way. When we fired it up in the finals, I could see on my dad's face that something was wrong. I was like, 'I better chop the Tree, because that's our only hope.' And I got a hold of it pretty good, and it was enough to win. I think it had three or four cylinders out downtrack because that thing was doing anything but going straight.

Well, can't say I have seen Bobby Lagana being upbeat too much, but another crew chief that is very laid back and loves his job is JIm Oberhofer, Clay Millican's crew chief.

LOL
It didn't have 3 or 4 holes out. I watched it again; it didn't have any holes out. It ran a tenth quicker than the runner-up....4.00/311 on a track hot enough to cook a steak on....so yeah, the mistake needed to be addressed but I don't think the crew member needs to be castrated over it. I've seen worse - Kenny Bernstein was once shut off upon firing up his TF dragster after it was rushed to the staging lanes for the final round - no time for a pit warmup - because someone forgot to put oil in it. Now THAT would warrant a righteous ass chewing.

I've never been on a crew but I thought it was pretty unprofessional to bark at a crew guy on the starting line while Prock was sticking his finger in the guys face. I get there's a lot of pressure and these guys are expected to do there jobs but that's something that should've been handled in the trailer. IMHO

Perhaps he learned from his team owner who - and he'd admit it - would bark at the Pope while having dinner at the Vatican if the situation warranted. I can see how improper timing could be a concern beyond losing a race - retarded timing can cause backfires, not cool in a nitro engine - but indeed, the office in the transporter would have been the place to discuss it.

People are gonna be people, though, and when they lose their temper they lose sight of where they are and who's listening/watching. But hey, this is small ball that will likely never be brought up again after we're through talking about it here.

good thing we saw this and Bruno riding go carts instead of all of the P/S cars.
They did better than usual with the Pro Stocks but when you have a 3-round race and 3 hours to cover it there's gonna be some filler. 4-wide races on FS1 should be two hours and then we wouldn't have all that crap.
