Dude, first; this is OLD news. Second, it’s not like JFR said, “hey, let’s throw Robert in John’s car and see if we get away with it”. The press release of the new rule from the beginning of the year and the language of the testing rule in the rule book had different verbiage. JFR went to NHRA and asked for clarification of the rule and were told that the testing went with the car and team. No crew members of the 3 car were on the grounds. It was the 7 car testing. Based on the press release of the rule at the beginning of the season I would agree with you, yes he broke the rules, however the rule book isn’t made up of press releases. I’m usually the last person to defend JFR, but they crossed their t’s and dotted their i’s on this one so it’s a moot point. The Indy deal was sketchy, I’ll agree with that, but Cruz had the chance to hold his spot and he didn’t. Cruz put himself in a position to let that happen and that’s all there is to it.
